1. Loosen fan belt or broken fan may cause the temperature warning indicator light up during driving. Loosen fan belt can easily cause a reduce in fan spinning speed which lowering the heat dissipation effect of the radiator. While a broken fan will cause the radiator losing the heat dissipation function directly causing engine overheat. If the radiator fan is faulty, suggest to repair at workshop as soon as possible.
2. Please take note! If the temperature warning indicator light up during driving, should reduce speed to stop the car immediately but do not shut the engine. This is because high water temperature will cause the temperature in piston, cylinder and drive shaft become too high, at the same time the engine oil become thin and losing the lubricating effect. Therefore, shut the engine immediately might cause soft metal peel off and stick on the cylinder.
3. If the radiator fan is running, use your hand to touch the radiator hose inlet and outlet. If there is a difference in temperature, it might be the thermostat is faulty which cause the water temperature become high.
4. The function of thermostat is to adjust the water amount to enter into radiator based on the coolant temperature, adjust the heat dissipation power of the engine cooling system. Its functioning condition can directly affect the engine temperature. If the thermostat is faulty, suggest to repair at workshop immediately.
Suggest to repair at workshop. The usual keypoints and procedure of repair are:
1. Check if the radiator fan belt is broken due to aging, replace if it is faulty.
2. Check the wiring around radiator fan if it is loosen or open circuit, replace if it is faulty.
3. Check if the radiator fan is faulty, replace if it is.
4. Use scan tool to check the thermostat, repair or replace if it is faulty.
