What is autonomous driving technology

Fully self-driving cars have not been fully commercialized, most of which are prototypes and display systems, and only some reliable technologies have been transferred to mass-produced models.

What is the autonomous driving   

The self-driving cars rely on artificial intelligence, visual computing, radar, monitoring device and global positioning systems to work together to allow the computer to automatically and safely operate the motor vehicle without any human active operations.

Autonomous driving classification

There is currently no specifically broad standard definition of autonomous driving classification. In America, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has put forward an official five-level classification system for autonomous driving (2016 version)

Autonomous driving benefits

In addition to the problems that need to be solved on the technology level, autonomous driving also needs various supports in " real world", including the establishment and soundness of relative laws and regulations, the cultivation of driver's awareness of safe driving and perfect road maintenance status. Even though 72 contracting states in The Vienna Convention on Road Traffic allows cars to drive autonomously in specific time, and road traffic laws of many countries still require the vehicle drivers to be able to manually take over driving vehicles at any time. Therefore, it seems that the road to "autonomous driving" of automobiles is still long, and there are many areas that need to be improved.
