  • Spied: Livan 9 EV aka a Geely Haoyue zapped with battery swapping technology

This futuristic-looking SUV is the Livan 9, an electric SUV based on the Geely Haoyue. The Livan 9 is set to make its debut at the 2022 Chong Qing Auto Show set to start on 25-June-2022. From what we can see, the front end of the Livan 9 looks radically different from the Haoyue it is based on. Instead of the large grille, the Livan 9 has a smooth finish with the LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) running across the entire front end. Although the wheels look about the same size as the Haoyue’s whee

  • Proton X90-based EV pick-up truck to launch in China soon

Despite Geely’s rather extensive line-up of sedans and SUVs, the one segment that they’re still exploring is pick-up trucks. Their earlier attempt at a pick-up truck was the Farizon FX, itself based off the Geely Boyue (Proton X70 to us) and had looks only the designers could love. Patent images of this purported electric (EV) pick-up truck surfaced in late-January, revealing that Geely has not given up just yet. • Spied: Geely Haoyue aka Proton X90 testing around Mid Valley

The Geely Haoyue has been spotted yet again, but this time it was testing around Mid Valley. Also known as the Geely Okavango in the Philippines and Russia, the 7-seater SUV is heavily tipped to be named the Proton X90 in Malaysia. This latest round of spy shots was sent to our media friends Careta by reader Iz’aan Zharif. If you're wondering how to clearly tell it is the Proton X90 Careta did a comparison of the trade plates to confirm that this is indeed the same car posted by another Facebook

  • Geely Haoyue (Proton X90?), 7 seater for the price of Boyue (Proton X70), sells only 1/6. Why?

In China, the 7-seater Geely Haoyue is priced very closely to the 5-seater Geely Boyue (sold here as the Proton X70). On paper, it certainly sounds like a good deal, considering that buyers are getting a larger SUV for a similar amount of money. At the moment, the Geely Haoyue is priced from CNY 103,600 (~RM 67k) to CNY 139,600 (~RM 90k), while the Boyue is priced between CNY 89,800 (~RM 58k) to CNY 142,800 (RM 92k). Curiously, the Haoyue isn't selling as well as Geely hopes. Despite the value p

  • Geely Haoyue (Proton X90?) launched in Saudi Arabia with new dual-tone interior

The Geely Okavango, known in China as the Geely Haoyue, has made its official launch in Saudi Arabia. The 7-seater SUV in the Middle East is powered by a 1.5 turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine, similar to the Okavango in the Philippines. In case you have not made the link, the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine is the same unit that powers the Proton X50. However, the Okavango’s engine is aided by a 48V mild-hybrid battery which boosts power output to 190 PS and 300 Nm. Like the X50, the Okavango’

  • China-spec Geely Haoyue to get new looks, could preview the Proton X90

Despite only being on sale for about a year plus, Geely will be giving its XXXL-sized SUV a nip-and-tuck soon, as photos depicting the revised Haoyue have surfaced from China. Perhaps the most prominent change is the new vertical slats in the front grille, which replaces the current model’s ‘Expanding Cosmos’ grille. A new chrome surround for the front fog lights is also part of the package. Also Read: Geely Haoyue debuts, 7-seater SUV with 1.5T & 1.8T, should this be the ‘Proton X90’? This new

  • Geely Coolray is Filipinos’ favourite B-SUV in May 2021, Okavango 3rd best-selling mid-SUV

Geely Philippines continues its momentum in May 2021 as the brand maintained its number 9 ranking in total industry sales in the Philippines. Some of the credit for this position is due not only to the Geely Coolray (Proton X50) but also the Geely Okavango (Proton X90?). According to a report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors Inc. (AVID), Geely Philippines achieved year-to-date sales of 1,987 units. The
