  • Confirmed: Hyundai Creta launching in Malaysia this year, to battle Honda HR-V

The Hyundai Creta is due to be launched later this year, as hinted in the teaser video posted on Hyundai Malaysia’s Facebook page. The Hyundai Creta shares the same platform as the Kia Seltos, making it a B-segment SUV that goes against the likes of the Proton X50 and Honda HR-V. Powertrain option will likely be the naturally-aspirated, all-aluminium Smartstream 1.5-litre petrol engine making 115 PS/144 Nm, paired to a CVT that Hyundai calls the iVT. Design-wise, the Creta features the new param

  • Malaysia-bound Hyundai Creta gets 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating but scores less than HR-V and X50

The Hyundai Creta has been a major success in Indonesia where it became Hyundai’s best-selling car in 2022 so far. It also achieved a full 5-star rating according to ASEAN NCAP’s latest report. The Creta is Hyundai's sixth model to be assessed by ASEAN NCAP but its first SUV tested by the safety organisation. Overall, the Creta received a score of 75.78 under the latest 2021-25 protocol which introduces the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) assessment. However, that score is less than the Honda

  • The Korean answer to the X50? 2023 Hyundai Creta spied; coming to Malaysia

This 2023 Hyundai Creta has been spotted in Malaysia. Perhaps it's the spiest of all spy-shots, considering there's not a single thread of camouflage on it (no trade plates too) yet it was caught on camera by a eagle-eyed Funtasticko reader. Seeing it here is no surprise as Hyundai Sime Darby Malaysia (HSDM) is earmaked to introduce the B-segment SUV here, set to rival the Proton X50 and its ilk. This will be one of two models – the other being the Hyundai Staria 10-seater – that HSDM will be in

  • 2022 Hyundai Creta makes Thai public debut at Bangkok Motor Show, can it scare off the HR-V?

Fresh off its Thai launch last week, the new 2022 Hyundai Creta makes its public debut at the ongoing 2022 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS). The B-segment SUV is imported from Indonesia (CBU) but unlike the archipelago’s 4 variants, the Kingdom only gets 2 variants, SE and SEL. Both variants are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit making 115 PS/144 Nm that is paired to a CVT automatic which Hyundai dubs IVT. Power is sent to the front wheels. The Creta is positioned bel

  • Hyundai Creta launched in Thailand - RM 119k, 7 seats rumour quashed, not any cheaper than 2022 Honda HR-V

After its regional debut in Indonesia, Hyundai Motor Thailand is next to launch the Hyundai Creta. Imported (CBU) from Indonesia, the 5-seater SUV has a starting price of THB 949,000, about RM 119,919. Indonesian market model shown Despite having a rather powertrain – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 115 PS / 144 Nm, paired to a CVT (Hyundai calls it IVT) driving the front wheels - the Hyundai Creta is only a negligible 3 percent cheaper than the hybrid-only 2022 Honda HR

  • It appears as if the Hyundai Creta is coming to Malaysia to stir some trouble in the B-segment

The Hyundai Kona is a decent piece of kit for the B-segment but it’s not quite friendly on the wallet here in Malaysia. This is where the Hyundai Creta slots in below it to potentially boost the South Korean carmaker’s sales on our shores. Hyundai calls it their Asian strategy model. A quick look in the dictionary of “marketing fluff” defines that as a model targeted at emerging markets; much like Southeast Asia. It shares its platform with its corporate cousin, the Kia Seltos. Being a 5-seater,

  • Spied: Indonesia-assembled Hyundai Creta spotted ahead of GIIAS launch

At first glance, we almost mistook this camouflaged car as the all-new fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson. But the car you see in the photos is the upcoming Hyundai Creta, spotted just days ahead of its official unveiling at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2021 (GIIAS). The front end might bear massive resemblance with the Hyundai Tucson, but a look at the car from the side and you’ll see that the SUV in the pictures rolls on much smaller wheels than the larger C-segment SUV.
