Kia Stinger – Overview
The Kia Stinger, first-ever rear-wheel-drive sports sedan, a five-door fastback that echoes the style and substance of gran turismo legends with its long hood, muscular haunches and stylish spoked wheels, along with serious game-changing performance figures.
The Kia Stinger shares its underpinnings with the impressive Genesis G70 sedan that offers an extended wheelbase for maximum cabin space, roomier interior, larger cargo hold, and hatchback liftgate with a sexy fastback roofline that competes directly with the Audi A5 Sportback, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, Volkswagen Arteon and Mercedes C-Class.
Kia Stinger - Exterior
The Kia Stinger front end is characterised by the Kia family ‘Tiger Grille’ flanked by swoopy wraparound headlamps and aggressively sculpted air intakes for radiator and brake cooling.
The body flanks are also heavily chiselled with brake ducts on the front arches and sill extensions adding to the visual drama, while muscular haunches and that swooping roofline define the rear view. Styling improvements include updated exterior lighting elements, new wheel designs, and larger exhaust tips.

The Kia Stinger feels sporty, substantial and plenty of legroom and headroom in the rear. There’s no shortage of space up front either 480-litre boots particularly in the rear, thanks to its long wheelbase. Luxurious Nappa leather seats on the GT version, while all models feature firm front and rear seats and bolsters with ventilated front seats. It receives upgraded metallic trim pieces, adjustable ambient lighting and a larger optional 10.3-inch infotainment display.

The Kia Stinger features automatic high-beam headlamps, a power-adjustable steering column, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, driver-attention monitor, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
Kia's infotainment system—called UVO—is used to good effect in the Stinger and consists of an 8.0- or 10.3-inch touchscreen mixed with useful physical buttons. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is a six-speaker stereo system. Audiophiles can upgrade to a 15-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo system, and Kia offers a host of other tech upgrades as well, such as a wireless smartphone charging pad and in-dash navigation.
Theta II 2.0 T-GDI engine
A twin-scroll turbocharger boosts low- to mid-rev efficiency while newly applied technologies provide phenomenal combustion efficiency. The engine produces maximum power output of 244 PS at 6,200 rpm and maximum torque output of 353Nm from 1,450 to 3,500 rpm.
Lambda 3.3 T-GDI engine
A twin turbocharger helps this top-of-the-line V-6 engine achieve considerable torque over a broad rpm range. The exhaust manifold is integrated with the cylinder head for added power, and an electronic thermostat helps provide precise temperature control. The engine produces maximum power output of 353 PS at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque output of 510 Nm from 1,300 to 4,500 rpm.
Standard paddle shift levers make quick gear changes for the 8-speed automatic transmission without taking hands off the steering wheel to access more torque during vigorous driving. The Kia Stinger is a front-engine, rear-wheel drive that offers a driving verve, making it a great option for enthusiasts on a budget.

Kia Stinger - Ride Comfort
The Kia Stinger offers substantial stability management for a sports sedan, while giving the driver more choices as to how much or how little control to leave to the ECU. Drivers can choose from five drive modes, each with its own coordinated combination of dynamic characteristics. There is even a Launch Control mode that momentarily suspends ESC to ensure rapid acceleration with minimal wheel slip and maximum torque control.
The Kia Stinger heads toward the luxury sedans with its rate of approach intensifies with a few revisions of a more powerful engine in the base model and a sharper exterior look with a relatively affordable car with driver appeal that makes a credible alternative to desirable rides.
