I have owned Proton Persona for a month now. I would like to express my gratitude to Zigwheels for allowing me to compare with various cars. However, the details tell only half the story. At first, I chose Saga when I saw the price. But when I saw Persona, I found it was better value for money despite the RM14K-15K price difference. It can be compensated with many practicalities, such as larger trunk, spacious interior space, two-door coupe-style roof design and modern design, more standard equipment, comfortable seating positions, etc. Most importantly, it is faster with a larger engine displacement. In terms of handling, almost no other mainstream B-class cars with less than RM100k can match it. Of course, it depends on the skills of the driver. Although the weight of the Persona is about +-1200kg and the tire size is the same as that of the Saga 2019, using the tried-and-tested Lotus R&H, this car feels nimble and agile. Even my brother's 215/45/R17 third-generation Myvi with sports springs can hardly keep pace with me, thanks to the "living" steering wheel, which uses electric drive and can provide a lot of Feedback. And dropping the claim that Persona used to be a gas guzzler. Under normal driving conditions, I can easily meet the manufacturer's requirement of 16-18 kilometers per liter. So far, I have reached a mileage of 21.7 kilometers per liter, a record that my sister's first Axia (17.4 kilometers per liter) couldn't reach. All in all, for those who want a practical family car that looks discreet, costs less than 100k, and runs like a sports car, Persona is the best choice. Although its CVT behaves mediocre at slow speeds, but for its overall performance. Its price is very worthwhile.
