Large dimensions. As a five-seater SUV, it feels even larger than some seven-seater SUVs. And people may think the Proton X70 is quite premium and expensive from its large dimensions outside.
Cons
It is big outside, but it is quite compact for its rear seats. Quite uncomfortable for some tall passengers like me. And the rear seats also lack under-thigh support.
Space
Thanks to Proton X70’s large dimensions,
its interior space is also very big. It feels incredibly spacious.
Power
The acceleration from Proton X70’s engine
is very calm and decent. It wouldn’t jump off like a sporty car since the X70
is positioned for family use. I personally tested that the Proton X70 needs 9.5
seconds to reach 100 km/h.
Ride & Handling
Proton officially said they have improved
the stiff suspension, but I cannot feel any differences in its handling. For me
its ride and handling are OK.
Fuel Economy
I have collected a 7.6-litre / 100 km fuel
economy after driving over 5600 km. I think it is quite close to the officially
claimed fuel economy.
Comfort
Very comfortable to drive the Proton X70 on
road for its super quiet cabin. I like it very much, especially when I got
stuck in the city’s traffic jams. And the seats are comfortable too.
Exterior
Well, from my perspective, my Proton X70 is
quite sharp and good-looking because it has a new front grille, which was
inspired by batik and wood carvings.
Interior
So spacious for Proton X70’s interior, and
the centre console is leather-wrapped with a good arm support. The steering
wheel is also soft leather-wrapped but the centre part of the dashboard is
built with plastic.
