Set to be Proton’s first 7-seater SUV, the soon-to-be launched Proton X90 has been spotted numerous times in Malaysia and it could be the beginning of company’s hybrid future. Photos of this new SUV began circulating on Chinese sites a couple of day, giving us a good look at this new SUV. Some Chinese new outlets have claimed that the Haoyue L is developed on the CMA platform, putting it in-line with other modern-day Geely model. First things first – the powertrain. Out goes the turbocharged 1.8-litre petrol engine shared with the Pro

At Proton’s opening of their new engine assembly line in Tanjung Malim earlier this week, it’s made clear that only the direct-injected 1.5-litre three-cylinder mill (TGDi) is assembled here, while the multi-point injection (MPI) variant is imported from China. Speaking at the press conference, Muhammad Hasbullah, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Powertrains, said that while “the plant is designed to produce a few more variants of the [1.5-litre three-cylinder engine], at the moment the focus i
