While the engine feels effortless and offers plenty of torque, it does not necessarily enjoy hanging out at the higher rev range. Stray too close to the limiter and the noise can get a tad too rough for comfort. The engine is mated to a 7-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission, featuring custom technologies developed by Renault Sport such as Launch Control and Multi Change-Down function.
Multi Change Down function offers accelerated multi-downshifts when demanded. In Sport Mode, the EDC gear box ratios are reduced and the 4CONTROL system adapts accordingly, generating improved throttle and transmission response.

The GT sets itself apart from the run of the mill Megane IV with a more aggressive exterior styling, sporting the GT and Renault Sport badging, not unlike the AMG Line trim for the Mercedes-Benz A Class or the M Sport trim for BMW 1 Series.
While it may not be as dynamically inclined as the full R.S model, Renault’s performance division did get their hands on the Renault Megane’s chassis and suspension development, incorporating R.S drive mode and 4CONTROL rear-wheel-steering technology.
Exterior- Bold and distinctive exterior design touches featuring GT line body kit accentuates the hatchback’s sporty and elegant exterior.
Ride and Handling- Advanced 4CONTROL four-wheel steer system greatly enhances low speed maneuverability and high-speed stability. Renault Sport tuned chassis and suspension strikes a great balance between agility and comfort.
Practicality- The impressive 434 litre boot is one of the largest cargo loading space available in the segment.
ADAS- The Malaysian spec GT model comes equipped without Renault’s VISIO system which includes lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and automatic high/low beam among other advanced safety assistance feature.
Connectivity- While the R-Link 2 infotainment system does its job, it is less comprehensive compared to modern connectivity feature like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Interior- While the build quality is exceptional, the interior design is average at best especially in contrast to its bold and athletic exterior. Fabric upholstered sport seats with manual adjustment whilst functional, has no place in a car costing upwards of RM 200K.
