The 2019 Honda City is the best selling non-national car in Malaysia. The B-segment sedan has dominated the market since its launch in 2014 when it made its arrival with VSC and traction control making it the safest car in its class compared to rivals Toyota Vios and Mazda 2. And the strength of the upcoming 2020 Honda City is only increasing. The current City's 1.5-litre engine dispenses 120 PS and 145 Nm. In 2017, Honda also introduced a Hybrid variant that produces 139 PS and 170 Nm combined and has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. (Toyota Vios vs Honda City; How do they compare?)
Honda City is Honda’s volume leader in the non-national B-segment market, having sold a total of 31,357 units last year. The popularity is attributed to a well-rounded package and specification that people have come to expect from the H brand.(2017 Honda City Gallery | Specifications | Full Review)Honda CityTrailing behind with 23,986 units is the original B-segment favorite, the Toyota Vios. Having launched early last year, it is the best Vios on sale yet as it is well-equipped now.(2019

A mid-life update was introduced in March 2017, and was quickly followed by a full-hybrid variant in July that year.Despite being the oldest model in its class, the City remains the stronger seller in its class, although the updated Toyota Vios have closed the gap significantly.
