I think that comparing the Corolla Altis and the Honda Civic people needs to think in a different way, I compared them both before and my final conclusion is that: The Toyota Altis 1.8 is a modernized car. Up to date. The only downside of it is the "previous engine and gearbox", and of course the design of the Head Unit. Others are above the Honda Civic. I'm sure you also have your own thoughts on altis vs civic 2019 malaysia.
The Civic previous engine and gearbox is proven reliable tech, not the power engine but alright if you don't wanna press your car for a "race".
When it comes to corolla altis vs honda civic, Honda Civic wins already if you are looking for power, nothing else to say, as it is the key factor. Of course the RM30-40k is different too but it is a local assembled unit. Thus Honda Civic price Malaysia is cheaper. This is understandable. The Civic turbo may have more issues comparing to an NA engine from what I understand from car reviewers too.
