volkswagen vento 0 km Q&A Review

How is Skoda better than Suzuki?

Advantages of skoda: 1. Quality 2. Technology 3. Safety 4. Long lasting (you can go 2 lack km withou spending single ruppe on car except servicing) 5. Status symbol 6. Reliable 7. Higest milage in any segment Advantages of maruti: 1. Lot of service centers 2. Any roadside mechanic can repair maruti( its sad that maruti often stoo working in ghat sections) Disadvantages of skoda 1. Most of the dealers are cheaters 2. You dont get orignal part outside ass easily. Disadvantages of maruti: 1. Every maruti car get 0 safety rating in nacp 2. Cheap quality 3. Cheap service 4. Low milage Dont know why indian people think maruti is most cheap to maintain brand...maruti dont trust on own manufactuaring. They just provide 40000 of warrenty on their products. If you compare with skoda it provides unlimited km of warrenty. Maruti have got image that its reliable cheap to maintain so they dont care how they provide service. I have seen lot of maruti accident just because of bad servicing of the car. Every roadside mechanic knows how to repair maruti so people are thinking that its cheap to maintain. Just compare ciaz and rapid/vento Servicing of ciaz cost 7000 rs per 10000 km and sercicing of rapid/vento cost 8000 rs per 15000 km. But quality provided by skoda and volkswagen is far better than maruti. One more point you can go 1400 km in one tank in any diesel skoda if it is well maintained. Except skoda and vw i dont think any other car have this capability. I travel from pune to hydrabad and back to pune in one tank in rapid.

Which car should I go for between a new Baleno Zeta CVT and a used Ciaz AT?

I shall leave aside the point that you are trying to compare a sedan vs. a hatchback. You already know that and your requirement is a good comfortable car for 4 and within budget. I think basically your dilemma is buy 2nd hand or brand new. (BTW, I am assuming that your family of 4 includes yourself; so you + three more). First, let's look at the POV of a family car and long drives. Here your requirements should be: Good space, legroom, headroom, elbow room, etc. Good AC and if there is rear AC vent then सोने पे सुहागा (icing on the cake). Good boot space Front and rear centre armrests (yes, don't underestimate these) Tireless drive, good suspension, etc. Basically, everything that gives max comfort on long drives In this case, both the cars are good enough but the Ciaz will definitely be more comfortable especially the higher end version. The Ciaz had better suspension and ticks more boxes than Baleno. The Baleno is hard on the rear seat. So definitely Ciaz. Now looking at single person city drive or maybe with one passenger, the requirements are: Easy gliding thru traffic, small and nimble Easy to park Quick pickup and zip thru traffic Great fuel economy Comfortable Here, the Baleno goes ahead. But do note that Baleno Zeta CVT gives 12~13 kmpl in city with AC on always and not the advertised 21 kmpl. Ciaz AT will give 9~11 kmpl in city with AC on. So it will be a decision on “how much will be your driving with all 4 family members vs. you driving alone”. Now let's turn to buy 2nd hand vs. brand new. The pros and cons are as follows: Pros for buying 2nd hand,: The car is much depreciated and hence residual loss is very low. The new car on the other hand loses 10% value the minute it is registered in your name in RTO (not even 0 km driven by you). The previous owner has already got most accessories. No expense here, generally. For the same amount you can buy a better car; you already know that Pros of buying new car: No troubles, or maintenance suprises for at least 3 years. Peace of mind. Fresh look, shiny paint, no scratches. Prestige point. Car loan mostly available on me cars. Sometimes loan/finance is available on old cars but limited to 50~70% or so. The list could go on. But one more point to consider here is that the Baleno has an official six months waiting period (don't know the latest). If you buy a certified used Ciaz from Maruti, then you don't have the suprises on maintenance. My vote will go for Ciaz. Other cars you may consider instead of Baleno: Honda Jazz V-CVT (great interiors, I own one and can vouch for it but will cost 9.4 lakhs) Ford Figo automatic Hyundai Grand i10 auto though a tad small (i20 auto is pathetic being available in Magna trim only) Others (used) cars instead of Ciaz: Without doubt a Honda City! But this car is so good that people don't wish to sell it earlier than 6 years and finding an automatic will be a challenge VW Vento automatic. But service is terrible from VW and that is the reason people sell of their Volkswagens.

Which is better, the VW Polo or the Fiat Punto?

Hey, today I will make it clear for you to choose between Volkswagen Polo & Fiat Punto. First of all I would like to tell you straight away that Fiat has very less networks in terms of service centres and it's popularity is now fading in Indian car market, whereas Volkswagen is still at one of the top 10 Indian car brands & offers good after market support. That way you can have instant service if your car is wrecked or damaged , you also get a good 24/7 road side Assistance from Volkswagen. To begin I will just say that I own Volkswagen Vento Highline and I will share my honest reviews on both the cars. I will give totally unbiased review. Safety : Go for Volkswagen Polo here you get the best build quality offered by this German carmaker. You also get 2 airbags with ABS; EBD as standard & TCS (In DSG variant) Also you get the best engine in terms of performance of you buy the DSG transmission variant. (Automatic) The NCAP gave 0 stars to Punto in crash test, in 2017. Comfort : You get a little bit of less rear seat space in Polo but Punto has more space at the rear seats. Overall the suspension is better and stiffer on the Polo and boot space is bigger in Polo with 295 L vs 280 L of Punto. Driving Pleasure : The Polo is hands down the best of the two in terms of true driver's car. It is so exciting to seat behind the wheel of Polo and if you get the GT version of Polo then you are driving the best hatchback. The Polo also offers the Reach & Rack adjustment whereas the Punto gets only Rack adjustment. And you also get more visibility from Polo's windscreen. Handling : The Punti here has a very slight edge on the handling but you won't be disappointed with the Polo either, there's very minimal differences between the two in terms of handling (I would consider this segment a tie). Maintenance : Here the Punto is soft on pocket and Polo is expensive creature to maintain. You have to spend more money on the servicing of Polo, Punto is cheaper. Mileage : Punto diesel :- 20.5 Km/l Punto petrol :- 16 Km/l Polo diesel :- 20.4 Km/l Polo petrol :- 18.8 Km/l Verdict : I recommend you to go for Volkswagen Polo, this car will not disappoint you at all & you will enjoy every journey with this car, and the major reason is the safety features and the vast network of service centres all over India. PS:- If you are looking for a performance hatchback then you can buy the Punto Abarth because it's the fastest Indian hatchback under 10 lakh rupees…
