I love adaptive cruise control, but was driving across Utah in snow and couldn't use it unless I pulled over every 10 minutes to wipe the snow off the sensors.

Snow. Because they’ll work fine once it’s melted. Though salt/slush/dirt over the cameras is a problem.

Have the same problem with my VW golf. If it’s below freezing and you catch water or snow the adaptive cruisecontrol goes offline. And there is no normal cruise control either

I've already got the technology for this in my lorry and it's rubbish! Anti collision sensor goes off under bridges on motorways, street furniture, cars turning up ahead that you know you'll never hit but jams brakes on. Lane departure warning constantly goes off in roadworks...
