Porsche taycan charging $2k just for adaptive cruise control?!?!? ROFL FOH
Did you know that in a Taycan Turbo S the adaptive cruise control is a option? The car cost 198K in Switzerland I can buy 3 model 3 Performance for that price.
I was excited, but it comes with a ton of asterisks. Want the normal range battery? Adaptive cruise control, sunroof, non-cloth seats, memory seats, 400V charging... You know, the stuff Tesla has standard in their $38k Model 3, it’s again past $100k for the Taycan
Literally anything else. Let me tell you, for the $103,800 base price you get just that—a base car. Four wheels and an engine… wait, no engine. If you just attempted to match the base features found in a Tesla Model S, your Taycan will run you somewhere around $114,000.
That’s right, the Porsche Taycan is nearly 50% more in cost when compared equally to a Tesla Model S in regard to just options and features. That’s adding simple things such as power folding mirrors, puddle lights, a panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, an ionizer....
Base Taycan has partially cloth seats, -no LCA-no adaptive cruise control-no heated steering wheel -50 kW 400V charging -no heated rear seats -no power charge port -no wall charger All from Porsche’s website. Do you not do any research before you make claims?
The Taycan has adaptive cruise control with active lane keeping and lane change assist which can almost be directly compared with basic Autopilot. It won’t advance at the same rate or eventually have FSD but it does have similar features today.
