i honestly think that patch is bad enough to need a full repaint and i think that is the kind of damages that should be sought for by the liable party (carwash)
For small nicks you could use OEM touch up paint or dr. colorchip, but to match something that large is difficult, usually would probably require a full respray of the bumper.
Someone should touch up the paint a bit so that it looks like the Tardis from Dr Who...
Buy the touch up paint to fix it and then get PPF on the front bumper
If you scraped something, then ensure you don't just have paint transfer. Otherwise I highly suggest DR Colorchip. They are almost idiot proof and provide better then most results.
Boring is all relative. And the interesting thing is that it is relative to you. Meaning, it is your attitude in Life. If you think you are dull and boring, well then maybe, just maybe, you are, but hey, it is not the end of the world. If we feel that we are boring, it means we are wasting energy on negative or neutral things. Why do that ? We are only given a set amount of years on this here Earth (listen to: Life is for Rent - Dido), so let’s use the time wisely and build an interesting Life Story, one that you can share passionately with those surrounding you. The most interesting things one can do is fight in the battle to conquer our Arch-enemy, the omnipotent Nemesis: Being Boring! Let’s all think together, the Great Minds of the Masses here on Quora - what can one do if he/she feels that they are boring? Time to go, Marvin K. Mooney (Dr. Seuss). Go out and throw away the boring habits. Stop spending hours living vicariously through your Friends’ Facebook timeline or playing Fortnight, while your life whizzes by with you in your pajamas hunched over your laptop, sipping your 11th cup of cappuccino. These habits do not make us more interesting. Reduce the amount of time you read yellow news stories such as the latest gossip on the flamboyant celebrity family which is always on the headlines, glamorous suburban murder mysteries, or other click-bait articles. You can talk about these, but only so much. Spend less time mulling about in the home doing nothing of use. Fight away depressing, useless thoughts. Do not let wasted time and energy take control of your Life. Instead go outside and start being the Author of your Life story - Read books about positive thinking, such as Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, How to Unleash the Power of Your Subconscious Mind, Dale Carnegie, etc - This is like meditation. Pick up a new hobby, or get reacquainted with a past hobby - I picked up painting again not long ago. I have a lovely off-and-on relationship with painting and it sure makes me feel good that I am creating things of beauty. Write, read, paint, learn a language, cook, sculpt, play a musical instrument - whatever does your soul good. It will radiate outwards and people will feel it. Go out and meet your old friends that you lost touch with or those you meet once in a while, find a college alumni meeting to catch up with your old acquaintances. Practice public speaking/ story-telling when you meet your friends. Start meeting potential partners that you can date, building stories together is the “bestest” feeling and very satisfying. It is always more interesting to experience life with four eyes. If you fall in Love, fall in Love hard. There is no feeling quite on earth like being really in Love and that radiates outwards. Learn something new - Learning new things inspires your life with fresh new energies. It also helps keep your mind young. Exercise - Gives a boost to your mood and also good for the body. Healthy body => healthy mind. Whatever you decide to do, do it with passion - when you tell stories, spice them up with many words, different flavors, intonations, questions. Imagine you are holding a pallet with a thousand colors. Listen actively to the stories people have to tell. Always look at the people with whom you are speaking in their eyes. When the Eyes meet, the Souls meet. Don’t say “no” to new ideas or experiences. Smile. The wrinkles tell a story. Keep your mind open, and open yourself to new experiences and share stories with friends and family.
I will be brief with the first parts and go deep with the actual construction parts, which is what you’re probably interested in. ,TL,DR: The ground is cleared, the columns are planted, then the column caps (those bar things right between the column and the highway), then a grid is built with girders and steel rods as the concrete and eventually asphalt are piled upon to create an elevated highway. The data gathering and ground work A large part (and at time ridiculously costly) of the construction of an elevated highway is the data gathering. How long does it need to be, how high should it be, how much traffic is estimated to be rolling on it once it is finished? Will the ground the columns will be built on be sturdy enough for elevated highways to be a feasible plan? Will it be cutting through anywhere it shouldn’t be? Will we be getting ,funding? The calculation of said data Lots of calculations, reading through the codes, knowing what it feels like to be a group hermit (bundling up with your fellow engineers, eschew social contact more than usual, consume unhealthy amount of tea and sugar). A lot of running around to make sure you’re not stepping on any toes - metaphorical, legal, sometimes literal. The actual building The substructure: The columns are placed first. Usually sections of elevated highway are on the same geological make-up, and even if there are discrepancies a bunch of multipliers/added numbers are heaved on the specifications to be safe anyway - so the columns are about identical in shape, size and structure. The foundation is laid through a lot of digging and drilling, planting steel and pouring concrete. If the ground is especially wet/hard to deal with, some touching up with the ground can be done either with pumps or gravel. If the foundation is in a r,eally ,muddy place or submerged, one asks oneself why did one wants to deal with the hassle anyway and place a cofferdam. The cofferdam encloses the foundation and pumps drag water out of it, replacing it with a light clay slurry. When concrete is poured, it pushes the slurry out due to its heavier contents. Either way you get a solid foundation from steel and concrete. The columns can be cast in place, but most of the work I’ve seen had the column pre-cast elsewhere and trucked/shipped to the location, where it is planted and attached to the foundation. Some columns, like the pretty Y-shaped ones, can allow the structure above to simply rest on it. Usually though, even when a double or triple column configuration is used, you’ll have a column cap, which is exactly what it sounds like. A thick piece of concrete and steel used to spread the weight of the superstructure on to the column, the column cap is usually perpendicular and thin to the elevated highway or large and run parallel to it. Either way, it sits snugly between the column(s) and the structure above it. This part is done either pre-cast, or in-situ with pre-stressed concrete/steel grids (slabs of reinforced and stressed concrete and steel made elsewhere) as a base for extra concrete to be poured upon. Right now they’re just lonely columns though. These pretty hybrids are both column and cap while these columns are pretty much the classic column&cap fare The Superstructure Steel, or prestressed concrete slabs are then craned up and held in place by girders and scaffold as tall as the column cap top height. The steel grid and more steel girders are placed on top and poured over with concrete. Sometimes a steel “bathtub” is placed on top, and the concrete deck is poured on it. The slabs/steel tub needn’t connect to each other right away, it only has to be so that the local substructure (the column(s) right below it) can support it. By this stage you’ll see lonely columns with some flat tops but not quite connected yet. slabs on scaffolding, steel girders and grids inside can still be seen slabs on scaffolding, after being filled with some concrete more support, this time a parallel column cap with slabs and a bit of leftover scaffolding, not quite connected to the others. Some of the more modern elevated highways are basically pre-fabricated, even the entire slab is done beforehand and tucked on top like Lego bricks. Still, in both cases, a lot of welding and pouring is done. Deck/Highway surface A moisture barrier is placed on top, connecting everything together. This is also in the form of pre-cast slabs of polymer or layers of rolled asphalt on some light steel support. A grid of steel beams is then placed atop of it all, which will then be poured over by even more concrete. Imagine an ice-cream sandwich - there are steel rebars on top and bottom of this grid. Finally, special concrete is paved/rolled on top. No, we don’t have asphalt on these elevated highway as highway surfaces! It might looks and feel like it though, because it was engineered to do so. Some expensive ones are paved with fancy polymer/fibre/something, which are way out of my league. Anyway, either the concrete is poured in the “tubs”, or rolled on by fancy special machines, which both lay it down, pour it and smooth the top off in one go. Science. The surface is roughed up to ensure traction by marking on the surface with machines or manually with brushes and rough materials. To avoid cracking (structures of all type experience two type of thermal deformation - one everyday as day comes and night fall, and the larger one every year as summer leaves and Winter is Coming), lateral joints are put down every 15 or so metres, so the highway has room to “breathe. A flexible sealant is then used to fill these joints. Think about the slight, regular bump when you’re on the highway. It’s there to stop the highway from suddenly collapsing due to thermal stress one day, and save your life. Lateral joints. The Touch up As the highway is built, spaces are reserved for power line, local sewage way, etc. Lights and rails are built, paint is smeared all over so that the highway look professional and everything. The hard part has already been dealt with.
I would suggest Dr Colorchip paint chip repair kits. Much better results and easier to work with. It is a fast drying paint, you put a dab next to the chip and wipe it across. Then use the solution to clean up around the chip. It fills it more even, and looks cleaner. Dark colors come out better then lighter colors.
Bring your car to the dealer who will read your paint code or go to Dr. Color Chip on line for small quantities of touch up paint. They can match any color of almost any car made in the last 60 years. Your dealer or mechanic can show you where your paint code is but Dr. Color Chip does not require it. You put in your make, model and year and all original colors for that vehicle will pop up. Easy to apply with their kit BUT intended for small nicks and scratches only. Big areas need a professional.
You can touch up the chips using ,Dr ColorChip, Automotive Paint Chip Repair.
Dr. Edward Jenner developed the smallpox vaccine in 1796, long before photography. I’m sure that when a portrait was painted, blemishes, small, or large were usually left out.
I like this prompts. But ,the big variable I think here is scale,. Are you talking about, 2–4 units, 20 -40 units, or 200–400, for example… That would big a major factor in your stress level. The more units, the more potential issues that can arise and cause stress (do you have 4 toilets or 400 to take care of…) Let’s assume it’s a reasonable entry level for an average person (10 units or less) and not a dive into the deep end of a large apartment complex right away. Then your stress will hinge on several factors: your property, your tenants, and your abilities and skills as a manager. For instance, if you have a problem ,property, (lots of deferred maintenance, even defective), then it can run you tagged putting out fires, working with contractors, trying to hold the place together or improve it. Watch out for this as some landlords squeeze all the juice from the lemon and sell a property without having kept it up, passing the hot potato to the newbie buyer unaware that about every component is at the end of its useful life and due for replacement. Instead, find a newer or well maintained and solid property to minimize (not eliminate) your property stress. Then maybe you have to replace some hot water heaters and faucets the first few years but not completely re-pipe the entire place right away due to constant leaks. Of course, ,the old adage holds your tenants’ problems will become your problems…, So find some with sketchy criminal backgrounds, a spotty employment history, bad credit, evictions, and a solid record of wrecking rentals, and you will have a front row seat in landlord hell until you can get them out (often at great cost, psychic and financial). On the other hand, find great tenants and you may just get an maintenance call every once in awhile and have a steady rent check without much drama. Like many areas of business,, your own skills impact your stress,. I have seen people get bent out of shape by a tenant’s minor transgressions (hint: you will not change the adult’s personal management skills no matter how eloquent your lecture planned for them!). And if every loose railing or scratch on the wall sends your blood pressure through the roof, it will be a rough ride., So you want to have some solid people and property skills, (or be willing to build them!). That said, you don’t need to be Dr. Phil or something and understand every facet of human nature—just some basic customer service type competence works. In fact, I think about anyone who has worked with the public (at a store, as a teacher, etc) can handle landlording. And you don’t need HGTV level remodel skills. Just being able to touch up paint, caulk, clean and drive screws can get you there (and use contractors for more major work). So like so many answers in life—,it depends. On the scale, your property, tenants, and you! Best of luck!
