What are some cons of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz model?

Some of the cons which i realised in the 6 months of ownership of my car are: The automatic transmission is good when you drive sedately but when you go flat out its lags with shifts and the engine just revs without giving it much pull. Though ciaz has got one of the better platforms of Maruti which is not Heartech so there is no issue there but the sheet metal is thin because if which a simple stone on the body will leave dents The car is not engaging to drive. Its of the type which is for computing from Point A to Point B and not for drag racing or pushing around the corners Does not have six airbags but practically speaking the price which it comes at is still cheaper than Honda City V cvt and Hyundai verna Sx plus AT and these two Variants also don't have 6 airbags. So can't complain much however there should have been an option of 6 airbags. Not much of a con in the car but it would have been better if the reverse parking camera had adaptive guidelines.

Which are the best hatchbacks/sedans to buy in India under 10-15 lakhs?

Under 15 lac it is wise to buy a Sedan. A Hatchback above 10 lac price is not worth the money especially in India. So the answer is quite obvious. Honda City Some people think that ,City, is expensive but I will tell you why it’s worth your money. Performance The 1.5 litre Naturally Aspirated engines is very good, actually best Petrol engine in C segment sedan. It is very responsive & rev happy engine, screams at top end, revs till 6800 RPM (just amazing). This engine is quite efficient too can return upto 12–13kmpl in City, better than Verna. Space This car has a lot of space inside which is again best in class. Although the rear space of Ciaz is also very good. Only Verna has the worst rear space matched closely by Vento & Rapid. This is Verna This is City Safety The top end City comes with 6 airbags. EBD, ABS, Dual Airbags is standard. Also gets sunroof in VX & ZX variant. Although Verna also has Sunroof. Looks Not sure about you. But I like sharp design language that is why I love the design of City. Verna looks a bit overstyled for my liking. But looks are ,subjective,. Handling The handling of the City is again best in the segment followed by Rapid then Vento then Ciaz & at last Verna. Boot Space City has the biggest boot in the segment of almost 500 litres matched by Ciaz. You might have noticed that ,City, & ,Ciaz, are almost equal in most of the department but ,City, is ahead in terms of ,Performance, & ,Quality, (still not as premium as VWs but certainly better than Maruti). However the quality & fit & finish of interior is ,marginally, better in Verna than Honda. Verna’s, ride is more ,comfortable, for ,slow speed, driving. Basically if you are ,Chauffeured driven, buy ,Verna,. Verna also has some first in class features such as Automatic boot opener. Ventilated Seats (only front). Adaptive Reverse Guideline in Parking Camera. If you like to drive then buy either ,City, or ,Ciaz,. Current version of ,Vento, & ,Rapid, are slightly expensive. They desperately need the new generation launch. And price of City & Verna is almost similar. Note:-, Buy City only in Petrol that too VX variant (more VFM). PS: Honda has recently launched ,ZX ,variant in ,Petrol Manual, at ,13 lac ₹, ex show-room. You can also consider this variant if you want all the features, and now you also get ,reverse parking sensor,. If you want Diesel then definitely go for Verna. Image Source: ,Honda Some people say that I am biased towards Honda. If you think the same then test drive the City once you will know why I prefer City over other rivals. You will understand, if you love driving. Hope It Helped

Which is a better car for me?

Hi, First of all you to answer your question what I require is your budget. Secondly are you looking for a hatchback or sedan. Since you want to keep the car for a long time I request you to go for a sedan. A hatchback would fall short on luggage space and passenger space for those long trips. I personally own a Ciaz top end petrol and its a really good car. It comes with all the safety features like ABS, EBS, two airbags and the works. The car has a reverse parking camera, electrically foldable ORVMS, stop start button, keyless entry etc. I am getting a mileage of 15 KMPL in city with AC being used all the time. My first service costed me 300 Rs only. Nothing can beat a Maruti when it comes to service satisfaction. The pickup is also adequate in the city limits. I`ve not yet gone for a long drive. All said and done, everything depends on your budget and what exactly you want. I would suggest you take a test drive of the car and then take a decision.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz fall into the Sedan segment and it's a good family car to buy. The Ciaz is the best value for money sedan in its segment and it gives tough competition to these competitors as well. The next step after the affordable manufacturer the Maruti has come up with Premium section which is Maruti NEXA. The sedan is always known for comfort & occupants as possible. Their three-box design means that occupants and their luggage will always be placed in separate spaces. Sedan sit quite close to the ground enhanced their sportiness. All the cars of Maruti Suzuki NEXA are comfortable and spacious. It's a good family car to buy. The Ciaz is the best value for money sedan in its segment and it gives tough competition to these competitors as well. When it comes to buying a new car we always look for some specific things like maintenance, safety, mileage, and price. But most importantly we look for the brand like for which brand we should go to. Maruti NEXA is good and trustworthy. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has 4 varients Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Also seats are very comfortable and provide the excellent back support. Engine and Transmission Maruti Ciaz Diesel has 1.3-litre motor which produces the power of 90bhp and give 28.09kmpl of mileage. Which is the best car under 10 lakhs in india?

There is no car which is best in all respects. Additionally, the definition of best varies from person to person due to difference in outlook, requirements and focus areas. If mileage is key to one, safety may be of utmost importance to someone else while available features may be the main requirement of another person. Similarly, someone intends to keep a car for a decade while another may like to upgrade every few years. Thankfully Rs 5-10 lakh bracket is the hottest segment of Indian car market and there lies more than one choice for everyone. I shall focus on some cars depending on different requirements. One more thing, with the price difference between petrol and diesel narrowing by the day, price and maintenance of a diesel vehicle and more stringent regulations being set up against diesel vehicles, I would not recommend anyone to buy a diesel variant of a car for personal use unless it is driven extensively. In my view, diesel variants will be of no use if anyone drives a car less than 1000 miles a month (~ 1600 kms). If ,Mileage, is your primary concern, there is no car which can beat Maruti cars. A few noteworthy cars within a budget of 10 Lakhs (on road) will be ,Baleno (All petrol variants) ,in Premium Hatchback section Vitara Brezza (LDI, VDI & ZDI variants) ,in mini SUV’s . You can also go for the base variant of ,S-Cross, which will cost you around Rs 10 lakhs on road. and ,Ciaz (, Sigma & Delta in petrol and Sigma in Diesel) The main advantages of having a Maruti are their extensive dealer & service network, fine tuned engine which gives out excellent mileage and will happily run for 200000 kilometers & High resale value. Of late, the higher priced models are being loaded with features as well. However, to keep power to weight ratio low, some of the models have not so great build quality which is why you will not find many maruti cars running beyond 150000 kilometers. Also, low service costs on cars, especially those being sold through “Nexa” is a myth and is actually comparable to other cars in their price range. Note: I haven't mentioned the most popular sedan Swift Dzire here because Ciaz & Hyundai Verna (about which I am going to tell shortly) are in every respect better than Dzire (except mileage). 2. ,Safety, Durability and cost of Ownership: ,When you talk about safety and durability, there is no competition to ,Toyota. ,Unfortunately, due to low sales volume, Toyota doesn’t sell it’s full array of car portfolio in India. Again, toyota cars sold in India are low in features and mileage in comparison to their compatriot Maruti cars. However, if you start looking for cars which are still running with 200000 plus kilometers in their odometer, you will almost always end up with a toyota. Even their entry level hatch Etios Liva scored four stars in NCAP tests. And the cars are almost trouble free and easy on pocket as far as maintenance is concerned. Within a budget of 10 lakhs (on road), you will get the ,Etios ,family of cars. eg. ,Platinum Etios ,sedan Etios cross ,as crossover hatch Or ,Etios Liva ,as a premium hatch. At Rs 10 lakh, you will get the limited edition Liva currently being sold which has a touchscreen infotainment system and reverse parking camera. The cars are devoid of style and many features which are given by competition but the cars are really really durable, easy to drive and very easy to maintain in the long run. Other cars which are good on security are ,Volkswagen, Hyundai and Fiat. Fiat Avventura is one of the most secured car in India in sub- 10 lakh category which is highly underrated . However lack of dealerships and service issues has plundered Fiat sales in India and now the company is focusing mainly on selling Jeep vehicles. 3. ,Performance and Handling: ,European cars are famous for performance. ,Volkaswagen & Skoda ,are two companies which focus mainly on this aspect. Within 10.5 lakhs, you will get ,VW Polo GT TSI ,/,TDi which is currently the best premium hatchback as far as drive ability is concerned. However, the car doesn’t come cheap and is costly to maintain. Additionally, you have to understand that performance cars have more chance of a breakdown after certain period and in the long run, the maintenance cost may escalate. Another superb car which falls under 10 lakh is ,Sokoda Rapid (Ambition petrol) This is the underrated genius of Indian auto market. However, people used to have harrowing experiences with Skoda dealerships as far as after sales service is concerned and that prevented skoda to gain popularity. 4. Comfort, Handling , Features: ,The first company in this category is ,Hyundai,. And below 10 lakhs, Hyundai offers two excellent models, both of which are superstars in their own segments Hyundai Verna It is the best selling sedan in C category of sedans and competes with the like of Honda City (which is a good 2 lakhs dearer than Verna). The two entry level petrol variants (VTVT E & VTVT EX) are available within an on road price of 10 lakhs although these variants are somewhat underpowered with a 1.4 L petrol engine with respect to the higher variants having a 1.6l petrol engine. The other car, which is a longtime favorite of Indian car buyers is ,Elite i20 All Petrol and Diesel variants except the Asta (O) Diesel will come within your price range. The second company which can give competition to Hyundai in this category is ,Honda. ,Honda has three cars, one in each segment, all of which are superb city cars with lots of features and offers excellent ride quality though maintenance is costly with respect to Maruti & Toyota. Honda Amaze, when launched, gave buyers an option beyond Swift Dzire. The second generation Amaze has improved in many shortfalls of the first generation Amaze and has been quite liked by the buyers. The car that gives the best city ride and handling experience in India is ,Honda Jaaz, ,which in my view offers even better propositions than Elite i20 but is more costly, . ,They offer excellent space, features and comfort. In the small SUV section, ,Honda WR-V competes well with the likes of Vitara Brezza & Ford Ecosport and is doing well. Most of the petrol variant and the entry level diesel variant will be available to purchase for a price of Rs 10 lakhs. Two additional cars are doing very good in sub-4 meter SUV category. They are Ford Ecosport The car has a steady customer base in India and sells between 3000–4000 units per month. The entry level Ambient & trend models in petrol and Ambient model in diesel can be considered for purchase although they lack many useful features. The other car that stormed the Indian car market last year and changed the perception of passenger cars from Tata is Tata Nexon: This car has a new engine, an elevated platform, loads of features normally not available in cars of this segment and good ride quality even on uneven and bumpy roads. This is also the first Indian car to get a five star NCAP rating for safety. All Petrol Manual variants and diesel variants upto XZ can be purchased within a budget of 10 lakhs. However, After sales service has been a concern for both Ford and Tata, though both companies are trying to change that perception. Another issue with Tata cars is that after few years of use small nagging problems would start creeping up which would result in more than intended number of visits to the service center. The new generation cars (Nexon included) are yet to be time tested to see whether the Tatas have finally been able to rectify those problems. That is why I would not recommend a Ford or a Tata as your only car. However, they are excellent options for a second car. To All Potential Car Buyers: ,Before purchasing a car think of your purpose and potential use. This is more important for first time buyers as often the lure of glitter cloud their judgement. Choose your model and variant accordingly. Features are fine to show off but each added feature will end in making you pay more for service and repair in the long run. Also there are certain features which drive the price of a particular variant of a car up without much investment from the car manufacturer but are useless for application in a hot and tropical climate like India. Make judicious approach. Make sure there is dealer and service network in your vicinity. If you are a person who relocate frequently, choose a company which has widespread service network. Also, consider roads and parking issues. Most larger cars are a headache to park in crowded parking spaces available in Metro & Tier-I cities. What is the utility of a car which you are forced to keep mostly at home due to lack of public parking space? Conclusion : ,There are many cars to choose from in the sub 10 lakh category. Every model has some merits and demerits. I have tried to put up some guidelines which will help one to choose the right vehicle for him/her. As spec sheets are easily available online for all cars, I haven't included those specs of the cars in my already long answer. Choose your car wisely. PS: ,If you can stretch your budget by around 1L,you will get the lower versions of three excellent sedans. ,Honda City , which is the undisputed champion in it's category for last twenty years, VW Vento, which is again a good improvement over polo though loses in mileage, features and other aspects with respect to city and Toyota Yaris, the global sedan which made it's India debut earlier this year. It, as usual falls behind Honda on features and is priced higher than verna & comparable to city but is supposed to score over city in safety(even the entry variant comes with seven airbags as standard, a first for any car in this price range) longevity and reliability. It also has a more refined 1.5 L petrol engine than Etios family and is an easy to drive and ride car.

Which is a better car, a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Alpha or a Honda City 2017 VX MT?

I am considering only petrol model into consideration for comparing the two cars. Lets see where Ciaz Alpha scores more over City VX MT : Sunglasses holder Reverse parking sensors ( rear view camera is present in both the cars) Rear Sunshade Foot Lamps Price :- Rs. 9,35,789* [ City VXMT - Rs. 11,77,797* (*Ex-Showroom Delhi)] Now lets see what City VX MT offers more over Ciaz Alpha : Powerful & Best in class Engine : 119 PS against 90 ps of Ciaz DRLs LED Headlamps LED Fog lights Automatic folding door mirrors Sunroof Telescopic Steering 16 inch alloy spare wheel ( In Ciaz all four wheels are 16 inch alloy but spare wheel is 15 inch non-alloy) 3 Years Unlimited Kms warranty ( Ciaz offers 2 years 40,000 kms) Shark fin antenna Automatic Door Locking & Unlocking So by looking at the above points, one can easily make out that Ciaz Alpha has one major advantage over City VX MT of cost - a huge difference of 2.42 Lacs, which may convert into ~3 Lacs when on road price is considered. Where as in those 3 lacs City VX MT offers much more, justifying the difference in price. The question is - which car is better ? But the answer depends upon the requirements or priorities of the buyer. If power is not on priority list but space is, then the car providing more power may not better for the buyer, but other car with lower power but more space would be best for him. Similarly if fog light is the priority, then it doesn’t matter if it is LED or normal, both will do the desired work. If we see the difference in the features again, whatever City offers more is more of a premium features or show off features. Basic things nowdays like AVN, rear camera, airbags, abs, fog lights etc are very much present in Ciaz Alpha too. So if budget is not a constraint, then definitely City VX MT is better in every aspect, but if one is tight on budget, Ciaz Alpha is the best. Hope this helps.

Which car/SUV is the one to buy within a budget of 10-12 lakhs?

There are many sedans and SUV’s which are good in this price range. However if you have to pick one in each category, then I would go for the following. The best SUV in this budget, with all the features and good performance, maneuverability, etc is undoubtedly Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. It looks like a proper crossover/SUV, unlike its opponents and is swell with features. I have recently read a review in the Overdrive magazine, comparing the Brezza with a few other crossovers and that confirmed my opinion that it is the car to go for in this price range. A few key features in the top variant(ZDi+), suitable for this price range, include, projector head lamps, reverse parking camera display, push start button etc. It claims to give a mileage of around 24km/litre, which is very good for a diesel vehicle. However, due to its incredible popularity, waiting period is in months, depending on your location. The best sedan in this budget is the Honda City. It’s been the leading sedan in India since many years and through various generations of models. The price would be in the upper limit of your budget and might get close to INR 13 lakhs also. Inspite of heavy competition from sedans like Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the City is still selling in heavy volumes. The top end trim offers features such as 6 airbags, sunroof, 7 inch touchscreen with navigation, etc. It comes in both petrol and diesel variants nowadays and you even get paddleshifters ! P.S: Images are courtesy of google. I dont own any of them.
