Following BYD’s official announcement of the Chinese EV giant’s arrival in Indonesia, a minister in the archipelago’s government confirms the company plans to set up a plant there. GWM Thailand is preparing to launch a new locally assembled (CKD) variant of the Ora Good Cat in January 2024, superseding the existing China-made model. Four BYD showrooms in Hong Kong recently experienced a series of vandalism attacks causing damage and disruption to the facilities recently. The incidents, categorised as criminal damage by the Hong Kong police, took place within a span of three hours in the districts of central Hong Kong, Kowloon, and the New Territories. All attacks involved a modus operandi of throwing red paint and/or smashing security gates of the premises. In one case, a 2-litre paint can was retrieved nearby the showroom.

The BYD Atto 3 went on sale in Thailand from 1-November and during the night before, queues were formed outside of BYD showrooms.
