According to the latest data from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA), 3,634 new electric vehicles (EVs) were registered in the country in 2022. This accounted for 11.7% of all cars registered in the city island nation that year (30,939 units). It’s a huge leap in numbers compared to 2021 when 1,740 units were registered or a mere 3.8% of total registrations. Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co. Ltd. announced on Thailand that it finished 2022 as Thailand’s No.1 seller of electrified (xEV) vehicles, with 26,660 units of hybrids (HEVs) sold. As part of its global efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, Suzuki plans to make fuel for cars in India out of yes, you read that right – cow dung! Taking advantage of a large resource of readily available ‘fuel’ in India, Suzuki will be investing in a biogas production plant based in the Banaskantha region of Gujarat, which will produce approximately 1,500 kg of biofuel per day, estimated to power up to 500 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles.
