The 5th generation of Honda City has long been groomed, and more sources now indicate that the launch of it will be scheduled this year. Honda has been keeping details under their hat so well that only Thailand as the initial market of this new generation can be confirmed.

The new City is supposed to equip with a 3-cylinder 1.0 litre VTEC turbocharged engine with the choice of either six-speed MT or CVT automatic transmission. This combination providing a maximum torque of 200 Nm with the highest horsepower rated at 129 hp.

Enough with the 1.0L VTEC Turbo drive system, Honda also planned to take in the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and the Sport hybrid i-MMD system, which compact with 2-motor HEV system dedicated to improve both ride quality and the fuel economy.

On the inside, there is a whole new interior design on the cards with all the trimmings in place. As for the exterior design of Honda, it’s most likely to adopt the style of Accord and Insight to mould a sportier and dynamic look.
