After a brief inspection of the area, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) determined that the people gathered to watch the illegal street race were violating SOPs. The group of 12 people were not wearing a mask and failed to observe the 1-metre physical distancing rule.
During the operation, 9 men and 3 women at the location were arrested in the process. Five vehicles were also confiscated by PDRM whilst those participating in the race were able to escape the police.
Hanyan explained that each individual has been issued a compound of RM 1,500 for violating SOPs according to Regulation 16 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) (Movement Control) Regulations 2021.
PDRM also confiscated 5 vehicles for various illegal modifications on the cars.
