1,800 service centres join auto discount voucher initiative to help flood victims

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz announced that up to 1,800 service centres and workshops across Malaysia have signed up to join the Keluarga Malaysia Automotive Discount Voucher initiative. The initiative is aimed at helping flood victims reduce the cost burden of repairing their cars.

To be specific, a total of 1,100 car service centres and 700 motorcycle workshops have joined the initiative.

According to a report by Bernama, the government is still working to add more centres and workshops, especially motorcycles, registered at the local and district authority levels to the initiative. 

Tengku Zafrul also revealed that nearly 20 automotive companies with a network of more than 1,000 registered service centres signed up for the initiative the moment the government launched the discount vouchers of up to RM 1,000 for repair or replacement of private passenger vehicles.

Affected vehicle owners do not need to make any application for the discount vouchers. They just need to head to a registered service centre or an authorised dealer of the respective automotive company.

The voucher will allow them to directly deduct RM 1,000 from the total repair cost or the cost of replacing new vehicles through invoices issued by service centres and authorised dealers.

Note that the deadline to claim the Keluarga Malaysia Automotive Discount Voucher is 31-March-2022.

“Flood victims can already start making claims from authorised service centres or distributors and registered workshops to avoid any inconvenience,” said Tengku Zafrul.
