The Toyota Land Cruiser will undergo a full model change in 2021, about 14 years since the debut of the current generation model. The next-generation Land Cruiser is expected to be called the 300-series, as the current-generation is called the 200-series.
The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is said to utilize a new body-on-frame architecture based on TNGA, possibly called the TNGA-F. The new TNGA architecture is expected to be shared with the next-gen Lexus LX, Toyota Prado, and the Toyota Hilux as well.
BestCarWeb reported that the 4.6-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine is expected to be discontinued in favour of turbocharged V6 engines (petrol and diesel). Electrification in the form of hybrid is likely.
Along with a new powertrain, the 4-wheel drive system and suspension will also be redesigned to complement the new architecture.
According to BestCarWeb, Toyota has notified its dealers that the all-new 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will arrive at showrooms in Japan as early as April next year.
