All-new 2020 BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport launched; 340 PS/450 Nm, CBU, RM 729k

BMW Malaysia has officially launched the all-new 2020 BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport in conjunction with the introduction of their online shopping platform. It is their first-ever virtual unveiling in Malaysia. The all-new BMW X6 is a fully imported (CBU) model priced at RM 729,800.

The BMW X6 features the M Sport package which includes the M Sport exhaust system, M Sport brakes, Adaptive M Suspension and 21-inch M alloy wheels. It gets the BMW Laserlights with high-beam assistant and LED fog light with full LED taillights. And the large front grille has LED illumination that makes it glow.

Compared to its predecessor, the all-new BMW X6 is larger is every dimension except height, measuring at 4,935 mm long (+26 mm), 2,004 mm wide (+15 mm), 1,696 mm tall (-6 mm). Wheelbase has grown to 2,975 mm (+42 mm).

Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine that makes 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission channels the power to all four wheels using the xDrive system. 0-100 km/h is dispatched in 5.5 seconds. BMW claims a fuel consumption figure of 9.0L/100 km.

Inside, there’s an M Leather steering wheel courtesy of the M Sport package, panoramic glass roof, Harmon Kardon 16-speaker Surround Sound System, and four-zone automatic climate control.

Over to the driver side, there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument display called BMW Live Cockpit, which features the head-up display. There’s another 12.3-inch display on the centre for the infotainment system that runs on BMW OS 7.0, it supports Apple CarPlay only at the moment. Rear passengers get two 10-inch touchscreen displays.

As for safety systems, the BMW X6 gets the Driving Assistant Professional which comes with the Cross-traffic Warning at the rear and Lane Change Warning. It also includes the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, as well as the Steering and Lane Control Assistant with narrow-passage support.

In addition, the Parking Assistant Plus, which is available as standard, includes the Reversing Assistant that remembers the last 50 metres of the drive and is able to semi-automatically reverse the car along the same route.

There are 6 colour option available - Manhattan, Artic Grey, Riverside Blue, Carbon Black, Mineral White and Flamenco Red. They can be paired with the ‘Vernasca’ leather in either Black (for all pairings) or Tacora Red (not available for Manhattan and Riverside Blue pairings).
