During the launch of the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V earlier today, the company also confirmed that there is a 12-month waiting period for its highly-anticipated B-segment SUV.

Honda Malaysia has collected over 20,000 bookings for the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V. The RS variant accounts for roughly 20 percent, 1.5 NA is 5 percent and the rest, as you've guessed, is for the turbo variant, standing at 75 percent.

In this environment of frequent supply chain disruption and long waiting period for new cars, many buyers are placing multiple bookings not just with multiple Honda dealers, but for both a Honda HR-V and a Toyota Corolla Cross, accepting whichever deal that can deliver them a car at the earliest time and cancelled the rest.
Therefore the high number of bookings collected is not reflective of the actual demand.

That said, according to Honda Malaysia’s CEO Hironobu Yoshimura, “We are doing our very best to deliver the news cars to our esteemed customers in a timely manner.”
President and Chief Operations Officer of Honda Malaysia, Sarly Adle Sarkum said, "Because this month will be the start of sales, we will convert the bookings into sales and we will see the cancellation rate and new bookings coming in so we can see the actual (sales) trend is."
He added, "This month will be the litmus test month, because this month we will try to see what (the sales trend is). As you know, in the industry now, you have people with multiple bookings. Everybody picks up the number. Honda picks up the number. Other makes pick up the number.
