Not even the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic can slow down the Honda City’s reign in Thailand, as the model continues to lead the B-segment market there.
Up till August, Honda Thailand has managed to shift 22,509 units of the Honda City, more than double what the Nissan Almera (11,713 units) and Toyota Yaris Ativ (11,101 units) managed.
In Thailand, the A-segment Mitsubishi Attrage and Honda Brio Amaze are lumped together with the bigger B-segment models as their prices overlap each other.
As ageing as the Mitsubishi Attrage may be, it still managed to outsell the newer Toyota Vios by a fair margin (3,666 units vs 2,696 units).
Closer to home, Honda Malaysia will be introducing the all-new Honda City real soon – they are previewing the model at selected locations across the country and selected members of the media have already driven the car.
