When the Sonata Hybrid was first introduced to the market, its solar panel, bridging between the top of the windshield and that of the rear window, was fell on the media spotlight. Taking on the solar panel feature, the global debut of the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid also gains a four-cylinder 2.0L internal combustion engine producing 150 hp and 188 Nm of torque, generates a total output of 192 hp combing with the electric motor.

Hyundai said the new tech enables a six-hour "solar charging" for batteries, increasing 12,000 kilometers driving distance per year. The hybrid electric vehicles also carry a unique grille design with small rear spoilers and aerodynamic wheel design. 

The exterior photos of the new Hyundai Sonata hybrid are well-released by the Hyundai media. Regarding the interior, however, has been buttoning up at the moment, which grants spaces for us to expect a special interior trimming in this generation.

The automaker said it would adopt solar charging technology in all the vehicles after 2019, to help global automakers adapt to the regulations of carbon dioxide emissions as well as to improve the vehicle's fuel efficiency.
