Following the announcement that the 2020 Mazda CX-30 is now open for bookings in Malaysia, the Mazda CX-30 is now on display at Bermaz Motor’s Petaling Jaya and Glenmarie showrooms.
There will be 3 variants of the CX-30 on sale in Malaysia, priced from RM 143k to RM 173k. The Mazda CX-30 will be fully imported from Japan just like the Mazda 3 and local deliveries are expected to begin in early 2020 – likely before Chinese New Year.
The Mazda CX-30 is not a replacement of the Mazda CX-3 as the former is based on the larger Mazda 3 platform while the latter is based on the B-segment Mazda 2 platform.
As such the CX-30 is a direct competitor to the Toyota C-HR and Subaru XV, not the Honda HR-V.
Two engine options are available for our local spec CX-30 – a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder SkyActiv-G petrol engine with 163 hp and 213 Nm of torque and a 1.8-litre four-cylinder SkyActiv-D turbodiesel making 114 hp and 270 Nm.
Both engine options are paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels.
On High variants of the CX-30, it comes with the full suite of Mazda i-ActivSense Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) that bundles autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlamps, auto high beam and blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert.
