Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe, priced at RM 787,357 (OTR without insurance, inclusive of SST incentive). 

Engine comes in the form of an electrified 3.0-litre in-line 6 turbo with EQ Boost, making 435 PS/520 Nm. The AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed automatic transmission sends power to all corners via the fully variable 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. 

0-100 km/h is achieved in 5.3 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Brakes are 400 mm discs at the front, gripped by 2-piston calipers, while the rear discs are 345 mm in diameter with single-piston caliper.

It wears the AMG Panamericana grille and 20-inch AMG wheels, while other wheels options from 20 to 22 inches are available on request. Buyer can opt for the AMG Night Package, which highlights all the trim in gloss black.

Inside, The AMG Sports seats provide lateral support and have an AMG-specific pattern layout with badges in the front backrests. Other AMG bits include the three-spoke steering wheel, AMG brushed stainless steel pedals, door sill panels and black floor mats with "AMG" lettering.

The GLE 53 Coupe has seven drive programs selected using the rocker in the centre console. This alters the characteristics of the engine, transmission, throttle response, suspension and even the vehicle’s sound.

The infotainment system runs on MBUX and supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Sound is piped through the Burmester Surround System. 

On the safety front, the GLE 35 comes with the driving assistant package, Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, Active Steering Assist, and Pre-Safe system.

Lastly, there’s the option for the AMG Track Pace, described as a virtual engineer which enables up to 80 vehicle-specific data as well as times on closed-off circuits outside of the public traffic area to be recorded and analysed in detail.
