The 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe facelift has made its global debut, with a reworked front fascia and a host of new technologies.
The front end gets a similar look to the recently revealed sedan counterpart. Gone are the dual-eyebrow LED DRLs, replaced by single L-shaped DRLs. The grille and bumper are also redesigned. The AMG E53 gets more aggresive bumper and 'Panamericana' vertical slats on the grille.

Over to the rear, it is largely unchanged from before apart from new LED tail lights.
Like the sedan, it gets new steering wheel designs with capacitive sensors to detect driver’s hands during semi-autonomous driving. The control surfaces are finished in gloss black, while the trim elements and surrounds have a silver shadow finish.
The screens are also larger, with 10.25-inch units as standard and even larger, 12.3-inch screens as an option.
All powertrains are fitted with a 48V mild hybrid system to allow a smoother start-stop operation and 20 PS/180 Nm of electric boost.
The E200 is powered by the M264 engine which makes 197 PS/320 Nm, and in the E300, it makes 258 PS/370 Nm. Transmission duty is handled by a 9-speed automatic.
And in the AMG E53, the M256 engine makes 435 PS and 520 Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels through the AMG Speedshift 9-speed automatic transmission.
Safety wise, the Active Brake Assist comes as standard. The system is able to detect crossing traffic as well as pedestrians. There are also a host of functions under the Driving Assistance Package.
Due to the complications from the Covid-19 situation, we are expecting the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe facelift to arrive in Malaysia sometime in 2021.
