Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4Matic Coupe, priced at RM 661,009 (OTR without insurance, with SST incentive).

Let’s start with performance; the GLE 450 is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line 6 turbo that makes 367 PS/500 Nm, paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission (9G-Tronic) that spins all four wheels through the 4Matic system.

0-100 km/h is dealt with in 5.7 seconds, top speed is capped at 250 km/h.

From the front, there’s the diamond radiator grille with the single horizontal louvre and gloss chrome-plated underguard. The headlamps feature full-LED technology as standard.

It wears 21-inch wheels wrapped with 275/45 profile tyres. The two-part rear lamps fit the characteristic design of the Mercedes-Benz SUV rear lamps with their hallmark rounded blocks in a slim outline.

Inside, the sports seats and steering wheel are upholstered with Nappa leather. Elsewhere, the dual 12.3-inch screens dominate the dashboard.

The infotainment system runs on MBUX, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity is available along with the Mercedes Me connect. There’s also a wireless charging tray.

Legroom in the rear is said to be more generous than the previous GLE coupe, courtesy of the 20 mm advantage in wheelbase. 

Boot space with rear seats up is at 655 litres and expands to 1,790 litres with the seats down. The GLE is equipped with Airmatic suspension which is able to lower the rear of the car by 50 mm for easier loading and unloading.

As for safety, the GLE coupe comes with the driving assistant package, Advanced driver-assistance systems include Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, Active Steering Assist, and Pre-Safe system.
