According to Headlightmag, 2020 has seen the Toyota Camry leading the D segment in Thailand. With a total of 2,526 units sold in the first half of 2020, the Honda Accord follows closely with 2,270 units. In third place is the Nissan Teana with only 204 units for the first half of 2020.

Offered with the 2.0 L and 2.5 L engine in Thailand, the Camry currently dominates Thailand’s D-segment with a 50.1% market share. It is important to note that the bulk of the sales of the Toyota Camry consists of fleet vehicles. In terms of privately owned cars, the Honda Accord could be outselling the Camry.

The COVID-19 pandemic saw a dip in sales for all cars in the D-segment. Sales were most affected in the month of April.

Both all-new Toyota Camry and the facelifted Nissan Teana were introduced to the Thai market in late-2018. The Teana is only offered with the 2.0 L engine.

While the Nissan Almera holds a solid second place in Thailand’s B-Segment sedan category, the same could not be said about the Teana. It would be interesting to see how things would have turned out had the Mazda 6 been in the Thai market.
