![2020 Toyota Corolla Cross to debut this Thursday 01]()
A week ago, we published a teaser on the imminent Toyota Corolla Cross. Positioned just below the Toyota C-HR, we’re set to see its global debut this Thursday, 9 July through a virtual launch event.
Based on the TNGA-C platform, it will be equipped with a torsion beam rear suspension - a feature that allows it to be priced cheaper than the CH-R and also save space. It’s rumoured to share powertrains with the C-HR, including a 1.8-litre, 2ZR-FBE four-cylinder petrol engine (140 PS, 171 Nm) and a 1.8-litre 2ZR-FXE petrol-electric hybrid (122 PS combined system output).
It enters a hotly-contested market that features the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, and Nissan Kicks.
