You've seen the leaks and teasers, now comes the official countdown to the launch of the facelifted (MC2) 2021 Proton Persona and 2021 Proton Iriz. 

In a post spotted on Proton's official FB page, the launch of both the facelifted Proton Persona and Proton Iriz is slated for 5-August, which is just a few days away. Seeing that we are still in a pandemic-enforced lockdown, said launch will be a virtual one.

Taking a glance at the teaser video below, Proton basically confirmed that the 2021 Persona and Iriz will get voice-controlled windows and AC from a new floating-style infotainment display.

On top of that, both cars get new digital AC controls, new colours, LED headlights and larger 16-inch alloy wheels. There's also a new Active variant for the Iriz.

To recap, the outgoing Proton Persona is propelled by a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine (109 PS, 150 Nm). Two transmission options are available, a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

Meanwhile the current Proton Iriz is powered by a either a 1.3-litre, 4-cylider engine (95 PS, 120 Nm) or 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine (109 PS, 150 Nm). Two transmission options are available, a 5-speed manual (exclusive to the 1.3) and a CVT automatic.

Prices of the current Proton Persona range from RM 42,600 to RM 55,600, while prices of the current Proton Iriz range from RM 36,700 to RM 53,700. All prices stated are inclusive of SST discounts, valid till 31-December 2021.
