The 2021 Toyota Camry facelift and one mystery Gazoo Racing (GR) model will be coming to Malaysia later this year, as launches that will follow after the 2021 Toyota Corolla Cross.
In its latest corporate presentation, UMW Holdings Berhad outlined that the models are set to be introduced here in the fourth quarter of 2021, which traditionally is anytime between October and December.
Coming earlier than them however is the Corolla Cross, which is set for launch on our shores in the second quarter of this year - roughly around April to June.
Although not listed on the slide, we are certain that the all-new 2021 Toyota Harrier will also be coming here in 2021.
What are these models?
The Camry was recently facelifted in Japan, sporting an angrier look in addition to improved Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), as well as a new Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-supporting infotainment system.
And then we have the Harrier, which was recently launched in Singapore. The all-new model will come to Malaysia fully-imported (CBU) from Japan, with a sharp new look and a host of fancy features.
But what exactly is this unnamed 'GR model?' Some may be quick to think that it could be the Toyota GR86 (sister car to the US-only BRZ), but that's still rather unlikely because the car has yet to make its global debut even in Japan.
