Porsche has unveiled the 2024 Porsche Cayenne facelift at the 2023 Auto Shanghai. The new Porsche Cayenne boasts updated powertrain, chassis, design and equipment.
Porsche has redesigned the display and control system of the new Cayenne, offering a 12.6-inch instrument cluster with a curved, free-standing design, as well as variable display options.
The automatic transmission selector lever has moved to the dashboard, which enables the central console to have storage compartments and a large air conditioning controller.
The redesigned cockpit includes a native app system with Apple Music and Spotify, while a 10.9-inch display for passengers provides performance data, infotainment controls, and access to streamed video content.
New safety features include HD Matrix LED Headlights, and an air quality system.
The advanced assistance systems have also been updated, such as active speed limiter, swerve assist, cornering assist, and improved Porsche InnoDrive that comes with adaptive cruise control.
These features are said to enhance the vehicle's ability to assist the driver in dangerous situations, as well as in traffic congestions on highways and main roads.
The SUV is available in three powertrain options and two body styles - SUV and SUV Coupe. The previous V6 engine in the Cayenne S has been replaced with a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine that pushes out 474 PS and 600 Nm, 34 PS and 50 Nm more than its predecessor.
The SUV and SUV Coupe can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 273 km/h.
Meanwhile, the entry-level Cayenne features a revised 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine that generates 353 PS and 500 Nm, which is 13 PS and 50 Nm more than before.
The 3.0-litre V6 engine is also used for the powertrain of the Cayenne E-Hybrid. The combined output of the engine and a new improved electric motor has been increased to 470 PS.
With a high-voltage battery capacity of 25.9 kWh (up from 17.9 kWh from before), the hybrid SUV has a purely electric range of up to 90 km and can be charged in under 2.5 hours with a 11 kW on-board charger.
The Turbo GT remains the top model in the Porsche Cayenne range in most markets outside the EU. Its four-litre V8 biturbo engine has been upgraded to produce 659 PS and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 305 km/h.
