Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) has added a new variant to its Ford Ranger range – the special edition 2021 Ford Ranger Raptor X, which is offered exclusively only in True Red colour.

The model will join the standard Ford Ranger Raptor, which will continue to be offered in the same four colour options – Ford Performance Blue, Conquer Grey, Absolute Black, and Arctic White.

Mechanically, the Ranger Raptor X remains unchanged from the standard Ranger Raptor that it is based on. It’s still powered by the same 2.0-litre bi-turbo 213 PS / 500 Nm common rail turbo diesel engine paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission, equipped with selectable Terrain Management 4WD and Fox Racing Shox dampers.

Driving assistance features are also unchanged. Both Ranger Raptors come with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with vehicle and pedestrian detection, Lane Departure Warning and Assist, and adaptive cruise control.

What the Ranger Raptor X adds however is a 360-degree parking camera and a Kenwood quad HD dual digital video recorder with built-in polarized filter. The latter is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

Also added are new Raptor X badges and decals, as well as floor mats, and of course the Ranger Raptor X exclusive True Red paint.

The price for the exclusivity is RM 216,888, or RM 6,000 more than the standard Ranger Raptor.

Like all 2021 Ford Ranger models, the Ranger Raptor X is covered by a 5-year / 160,000 km warranty.
