Apart from the sea of other cars displayed in the recent 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, we'd like to show one more - this wild, China-market 2021 GWM Pao Baja Snake.
This is a jacked-up, even more rugged version of the Pao - yes, the same one that we spied in Malaysia earlier this week.
And if you remember our teaser post, we said that it was Shelby-tuned. Technically it is - despite some reports saying its not - but it's tuned by Yuan Da Shelby, distributor of the American brand in China.
That aside, the Baja Snake comes with a whole host of off-road goodies: namely a lift-kit (with Fox suspension!), a snorkel, and a properly tough tow hook.
Plus the looks has been thoroughly beefed-up too: the Pao's front fascia wears a scowl now, the thicker rear bumper is now in black, and there's chunky fender flares on all sides too.
Capping off the looks are stripes along the top and sides of the car, with wings extending from the bed to give the truck a sharper, sportier profile.
Inside, the Pao's leather-clad interior gets additional Alcantara touchpoints to complement its body-coloured trimming.
Powertrain details were not shared, but the Pao comes with a few powertrain configurations in China: either a 2.0-litre petrol engine putting out 190 PS / 400 Nm, or a 2.0-litre turbodiesel with 163 PS / 400 Nm.
The primary transmission is an 8-speed automatic but a 6-speed manual 'Custom Edition' is also available.
So what do you think - would you make your Pao up like this in Malaysia?
