The all-new 11th generation 2022 Honda Civic FE has entered production at the Honda of Canada Manufacturing plant in Alliston, Ontario, the first Honda plant to make the latest Civic.
The Canadian plant will only produce the sedan variant of the Honda Civic, which will soon go on sale in North America, the first region to sell the latest Civic, later this year as a 2022 model.

Honda says following this, the Civic Hatchback variant (yet to be revealed) will enter production at another North American plant, at Greensburg, Indiana. Previously, the Civic Hatchback was imported from the Swindon plant in the UK.
The Alliston plant in Canada holds the record of being the longest running plant to continuously produce the Honda Civic, at 35 years, with nearly 11 million units produced for USA and Canada.
For the first time ever, the Civic’s roof will be made using laser brazing technology, for a seamless exterior appearance and an even stronger vehicle body. Extensive application of structural adhesive is also employed to create the most rigid body ever for a Civic.
Like our Honda City that’s assembled in Melaka, Honda of Canada Manufacturing will also be applying spray foam to hollow portions of the Civic Sedan’s body structure to reduce noise transmission, helping create the quietest Civic in history.

The North American market Honda Civic will be sold with two engine options – a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder i-VTEC and the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder VTEC Turbo.
The naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine is made at the Alliston plant while the 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder is transported from the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio.
