Subaru Solterra debuting in 2022 - brand's first EV SUV, but keeps the AWD goodness!

The silhouette you see above belongs to the upcoming Subaru Solterra - the brand's first electric vehicle (EV) SUV, built in partnership with Toyota. Yes, just like the 86/BRZ twins!

The Solterra is bound to be the first Subaru car that's based on the EV-only e-Subaru Global Platform (e-SGP), and it's a C-segment SUV.

Besides that, the Solterra keeps the Subaru DNA: the company says the SUV will have "AWD performance that boasts excellent steering stability and high running performance".

Beyond the two images up top, neither performance figures nor features were shared in further detail. The Solterra will go on sale in Japan, the United States and Canada, Europe, as well as China by the middle of 2022.
