In Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s financial report for 2020 fiscal year ending March 2021, the company has outlined its product plan for the upcoming years. The Mitsubishi Xpander is scheduled for a major renewal which suggests an all-new model, and will feature a hybrid powertrain.

We’ve previously reported MMC’s push for electrification and the future models planned, amongst them is the Xpander Hybrid. This time we have confirmation of its development.

The Xpander HEV is expected to be an all-new model, seeing the current generation Mitsubishi Xpander already had a facelift and past its mid-life cycle. It would be unusual to introduce a new powertrain this late in its model life.

Like the current-generation Xpander, the all-new Mitsubishi Xpander Hybrid is likely to be developed in Indonesia as well, considering the affinity towards 7-seater SUVs and its push for EV battery producer.

Looking at MMC's timeline for the future model plan, the Mitsubishi Xpander Hybrid is slated to be revealed sometime in 2023. So, are you keen on a hybrid Xpander?
