Alongside the facelifted Cooper S range, MINI Malaysia has launched the facelifted 2021 MINI Electric, also known as the MINI Cooper SE.

It comes fully imported (CBU) from UK, priced at RM 217,470 (OTR without insurance, with SST discount and extended warranty/service package). The pre-facelift model was sold at RM 218,380, hence a price drop of just under RM 1k.

Unlike the petrol-powered MINIs, the front grille does not extend to bottom edge of the new front bumper. But the fog lights are replaced with air curtains for improved aerodynamics.

The rest of the exterior sees minimal changes. The 17-inch Power Spoke wheels are carried over from before.

Inside, the new models are equipped with a redesigned steering wheel that features horizontal spokes with a new look for the lower spoke, and buttons which are integrated on an even surface with a Piano Black finish. The air vents have been redesigned as well.

The 8.8-inch infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay while audio is channelled the 12-Speaker 360-watt Harman Kardon Sound System. Other features include head-up display, wireless charging, and ambient lighting.

No changes on the electric propulsion unit, with an electric motor rated at 184 PS/270 Nm as well as a 12-module T-shaped battery unit with a net capacity of 28.9kWh. 0-100 km/h is dealt with in 7.3 seconds while top speed is 150 km/h. Driving range on a WLTP cycle is quoted at 232 km.

On the safety font, it gets Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant as standard, which includes AEB, LDW, and high-beam assistant.

Exterior colour options for the MINI Electric are White Silver with Black Roof and Energetic Yellow Accents, British Racing Green with Black Roof and Black Mirror Caps, and Midnight Black with White Roof and Energetic Yellow Accents.

The facelifted MINI Electric is available at all authorised MINI dealerships nationwide from 2-June-2021. However, in accordance with the latest Movement Control Order, dealerships will be closed for physical viewing and customers are encouraged to view the MINI models online.
