As far as 4x4 vehicles go, I've always had a thing for the Suzuki Jimny. Back in the day, my dad used to have one. He was in the construction industry, and he needed one for site visits. It was also the car he ferried us to and from school with.

I still remember our Jimny vividly. Red paint, black steel wheels, a floppy manual transmission and.... all-round drum brakes (yes I was already a car nerd by then). It was bumpy as hell (my mother refused go anywhere in it!), smelled of mud and petrol, and I absolutely adored it for some reason. Perhaps because it had character in spades.

Just as I was reminiscing about the Jimny, lo and behold, one pops up for sale! And what a minter it is. From the sale post, this second-generation Suzuki Jimny looks box-fresh, as if it just left the factory, with the original bits intact.

Two-tone paint, replete with a pink/purple insignia on the doors? Check. Original steel wheels? Check. Floppy manual transmission? Check. Power steering? Well, it says so on the tailgate, so it must have it. But by far the most memorable feature was the front passenger grab handle, to hold on to when things get bumpy (and it will!). 

The interior furnishings have also been left untouched, as the pictures can attest. And check out that tyre jack in the engine compartment! All for an not-unreasonable asking price of RM 31,800. Someone please buy this!

The Suzuki Jimny is rugged and adorable all at once. It just creeps up on you and bowls you over with its effervescence. That's why it was and still is such a cult hit (the third-generation being the exception). Just think of how effortlessly cool you'd be in one of these. If your friends don't think so when you rock up in one, it's time to find new friends.
