This blurry photo is likely your first look at the upcoming new 2021 Perodua Myvi facelift, codenamed D51A.
According to our friends over at Funtasticko, Perodua is slated to launch the new and improved Myvi later this year, most likely within the fourth quarter of 2021.
The photo posted on RiderAth’s Facebook page is rather blurry, but it does give away some new design cues, such as a revamped front bumper with two massive vertical slats on each end. It also looks like the front grille could be redesigned.
For the first time ever, daytime running lights (DRLs) could be offered on the Myvi, albeit possibly limited to the upper 1.5 AV variants. The earlier-rumoured new red colour for the Myvi could be a range-topping-only feature.
Funtasticko’s source mentioned that the new Myvi facelift will drop its tried-and-tested four-speed automatic in favour of the Ativa’s CVT-type automatic. The five-speed manual transmission will also be dropped.
But that’s not all. Two new variants will join the line-up, bringing the total variants to six. Out of which, four variants will be offered with the enhanced ASA 3.0 AEB suite.
Barring the base 1.3 model, the source mentioned that all variants of the new Myvi facelift will get Lane Departure Warning (LDW), while Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) will be offered on selected variants. The top-of-the-line AV variant could get Lane Keep Assist (LKA).
Moving inside, a new steering wheel could be made available for all variants of the updated Myvi, while 1.5 variants could receive a new meter cluster.
