It’s been 10 years since the Lamborghini Aventador was shown to the world. As a last hurrah, the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae was created as a send-off to the model.
Think of the Aventador Ultimae as a plusher version of the hardcore Aventador SVJ. The 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 mill puts out 780 PS/720 Nm, which is 10 PS more than the SVJ and 40 PS more than the Aventador S. With all-wheel drive, 0-100 km/h takes just 2.8 seconds and top speed is 355 km/h.

Being a tamed version of the SVJ, the Ultimae does without the huge rear wing, but takes on the rear diffuser. The front bumper is said to be unique to the Ultimae that includes a front splitter. Inside, it gets ‘comfort’ seats from the Aventador S and whole lot of Alcantara.
Lamborghini says they’re only making 350 coupes and 250 roadsters of the Aventador Ultimae, and each carries the 001 of 350/250 plaque to remind owners they are in a limited-edition car.
About two months ago, Lamborghini revealed that two new cars in the V12 model line-up will be announced in 2021. The Ultimae is one of the two and since it's the final version of the Aventador, the next V12 model is expected to be its replacement.
All we know about the new model is that it will continue the V12 legacy for one more generation. But here’s the interesting part – Lamborghini said that it will launch its first hybrid series production car in 2023. And since the Aventador replacement is due this year, does that mean it won't be electrified yet?
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said in a report, “The follow-up to the Aventador will still be a V12, so the sound issue is not going to be something we need to take care of because the engine will still be there, and it will have the right sound.” Well, that sounds like good news for us petrolheads.
