The Johor police force has a set of new rides! 34 new Toyota Hilux Single Cab 2.4 (MT) were delivered to the Johor police to replace the ageing Land Rover fleet. The new fleet of Hilux will be used in the Gunasama Operation that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is carrying out exclusively in the state.

According to Johor Police Chief, Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, the new pick-up trucks were delivered back on 15 February 2021.

The total cost of the fleet is recorded at RM 5.3 million, this number includes the cost of modifications added to the Hilux like the necessary equipment, a dashcam, radio accessories, fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.

The vehicles will be distributed to various police district head offices across Johor. Each head office will receive 2 to 3 units to put to good use, only 1 unit will be used at the contingent head office of Johor.
