Perhaps one of the cutest electric vehicles (EVs) available today, the Ora Good Cat, will be launched in Thailand within this month.
According to our colleagues over at Autofun Thailand, the Ora Good Cat is said to be priced below the THB 1 million (~RM 123k) mark, undercutting a lot of rivals, including the MG ZS EV (THB 1.19 million).
A right-hand-drive mule was spotted in the Kingdom earlier this year, fueling speculation that Great Wall Motors, or GWM in short (Ora’s parent company) has plans to introduce the affordable EV there.
As a brief refresher, the Good Cat is powered by a permanent magnet electric motor located on the front axle. The motor produces 145 PS and 210 Nm. The Good Cat offers two battery size. The smaller battery offers a 400-km range, while the larger one adds another 100 km range, bringing the total range to 500 km.
Standard AC charging takes eight hours to fully charge, while DC fast charging from 30% to 80% takes just 30 minutes.
What about Malaysia?
Well, there’s a possibility that the Ora Good Cat could be offered in Malaysia. After all, we’ve gotten up close and personal with one a few month ago, albeit in left-hand drive format.
That said, the bigger question is who will represent the Ora brand in Malaysia. GWM’s Malaysian distributor, Go Auto, has been rather quiet lately and has since disbanded its public relations team.
