It’s been a week since Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) launched the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, here’s a photo gallery to give you a closer look at Porsche’s new electric vehicle (EV).

From the front, the Cross Turismo looks largely the same as the Taycan saloon, as Porsche calls it. But from the rear, a hatchback-style roofline replaces the sloping roof.

Porsche claims that the higher roofline allows at least 47 mm more headroom for rear passengers while the boot space has increased up to 1,200-litres when the rear seatbacks are folded down.

The Taycan Cross Turismo is the perfect compromise for buyers who are looking for a performance EV with all the space to accommodate all the gear they need.

SDAP offers the Cross Turismo with three variants in Malaysia:

Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo

Priced at RM 645,209, the base Taycan Cross Turismo is capable of 360 PS. With the over-boost power from the Launch Control, the power output increases to a total of 476 PS.

The century sprint is completed in 5.1 seconds while the top speed is recorded at 220 km/h. Porsche also claims that the base Cross Turismo can manage a distance range of 437 km based on the NEDC method.

Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo

The mid-spec Cross Turismo has a power output of 490 PS, with Launch Control, the car is capable of 571 PS. The 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 4.1 seconds while the top speed is recorded at 240 km/h.

Priced at RM 728,727, the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo has a range of 435 km based on the NEDC method.

Porsche Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo

The range-topping Taycan Cross Turismo makes 625 PS. The over-boost function adds 55 PS more to the number, rounding it off at 680 PS.

Capable of making the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.3 seconds, the Turbo variant has a top speed of 250 km/h. Porsche claims the 93.4 kWh battery in the Turbo Cross Turismo has a range of 425 km.

Of course, more power means a bigger price tag of RM 968,928.

All variants are driven by all four wheels while adaptive air suspension is standard across the range. This means that the Taycan Cross Turismo sits 20 mm higher from the ground compared to the Taycan saloon.

Customers can also opt for the optional Offroad Design package. The suspension package will increase the car’s ground clearance by 30 mm. This means that owners can choose to go off-roading with their Taycan Cross Turismo whenever they feel like it.

The Offroad Design package also includes special flaps at the corners of the front and rear bumpers as well as the end of the sills.

To further enhance the EV’s off-road look, Porsche also added wheel arch trims, unique front and rear lower aprons, and side sills.

The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is now available for viewing at Porsche Centres nationwide. But as part of the ongoing Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) measures, those interested to pay Porsche a visit are required to make an appointment before heading to a centre.
