Priced from just RM 174k in China, here's a closer look at the XC90 twin's, the Lynk & Co 09

Lynk & Co celebrated its fifth anniversary with the official launch of its new flagship SUV, the Lynk & Co 09. Since it is now officially on the market, there are finally more photos of the SUV, without further ado, here’s a quick gallery.

The Lynk & Co 09 is built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, the same platform as its Swedish cousin, the Volvo XC90, is built on. Basically, the two cars are twins and share most of its working components such as the engines.

So, like the XC90, the Lynk & Co 09 is offered only with hybrid engines. Customers can pick from either the mild hybrid (MHEV) 2.0-litre turbocharged T5 engine (254 PS and 350 Nm) or the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) 2.0-litre turbocharged T8 engine (431 PS and 659 Nm).

Both engine options are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

Although the 09 and XC90 are twins, the 09 measures slightly larger at 5,042 x 1,977 x 1,780 mm. Both SUVs share the same wheelbase measurements of 2,984 mm.

Other than being the first model under the Lynk & Co banner that comes only with hybrid engines, the 09 is also the first model that seats more than five people in the car. Customers can opt for the 6-seater or 7-seater version.

Other than the number of seats, buyers can also pick between 20-inch wheels or 21-inch wheels.

Pre-sale prices for the Lynk & Co 09 starts from CNY 270,000 (~ RM 174,300) for the base 09 Pro MHEV and tops off at CNY 375,000 (~RM 242,000) for the range-topping 09 Ultra PHEV.

Deliveries are expected to start earliest by February 2022.
