Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), distributors of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia has confirmed that the E3 Porsche Cayenne is the marque's first model chosen for local assembly (CKD) in Kulim, Kedah. The locally-assembled Cayenne will come with an enhanced standard equipment range specified exclusively for the Malaysian market.

Standard equipment for the CKD Cayenne include:

• LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
• LED taillights
• 21-inch RS Spyder design wheels
• BOSE Surround Sound System
• Two choices of leather upholstery colourways
• Four-zone climate control 
• Porsche Communication Management system
• Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay 
• Porsche Advanced Cockpit

Should customers want more custommisation, they can also opt for the first-ever Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Package, which includes a SportDesign Package, consisting of a unique front apron and more pronounced wheelarch extensions, and darker-tinted headlights and taillights.

Performance is also enhanced with a sports exhaust system featuring unique sport tailpipes. What's more, the soundtrack of the exhaust can be altered to suit different driving moods.

A carbon interior package is also available, adorning areas of the dashboard and door panel with carbon fibre to create a premium yet sporty ambience. Customers can also upgrade to the optional 22-inch rims. 

SDAP is now making the process of owning a Porsche Cayenne as seamless as possible, as customers can now configure and book a Cayenne online for the first time at mycayenne.online.

Pricing wise, the locally-assemble Porsche Cayenne now starts from RM 550,000 (SST exemption applied, valid until 30 June 2022), which is RM 115k less than the CBU version that retailed for RM 665,000. First deliveries are estimated to begin by March 2022.

To recap, the base Porsche Cayenne is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine (340 PS, 450 Nm), hooked to a 8-speed automatic transmission, driving all four wheels.
