CKD 2022 BMW X6 (G06) launched in Thailand, raising total CKD models to 9

BMW Thailand announced yesterday a locally-assembled (CKD) version of the BMW X6. The model will supersede the previous Spartanburg, USA-built X6 model.

Available in only one xDrive40i M Sport variant, the coupe-SUV is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that makes 340 PS and 450 Nm.

Ride is improved by BMW’s Adaptive 2-axle air suspension.

The CKD 2022 BMW X6 is priced in Thailand at THB 5,499,000 (about RM 703,000, sounds like a lot but it mostly due to the depreciation of the Ringgit versus Thai Baht).

The previous imported model, which was only available as a xDrive30d M Sport, was priced at THB 7.299 million (about RM 933,600).

The introduction of the CKD BMW X6 brings the total models assembled at the BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand plant in Rayong to 9 models, including the 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, X1, X3, X5, and X7.

Closer to home, BMW Malaysia sells the X6 xDrive40i M Sport for RM 710,947, inclusive of 5-year extended warranty and service package. The model is imported (CBU) from Spartanburg, USA.
